Stargirl Discussion chapters 8-15
How has Stargirl's choice to be an individual impacted students at Mica high? Do you think that Stargirl should care about what the students at Mica high think?

I think Stargirl's choice to be indivisual impacted the students into being indivisual themselves. Leo says that the students break away from we and us and become themselves. I think Stargirl should continue with the mindset that what they say doesn't matter. Kaitlin T.-Set 4
Yes stargirl has become a individual. Definitaly the students at mica high are now individuals. Mabey some of them are stillrude and follow the croud. If I was a student there i would tell stargirl to not worry about what others think. IGNORE THEM!!! Joan R.-Set 7
I think that stargirl was an individual. Everyone else, however, are just conformists. By becoming individuals, they were conforming to stargirl's example. So if stargirl wants to be a nonconformist, she has to become like everyone else, since the conformists are individual. I just read what I have so far... It doesn't make much sense... I think that at first the students of Mica High loosened up when Stargirl came, but now their just sick of it. I also think that Stargirl shouldn't care what people think of her; it's a important fact in life to be yourself.
The choice stargirl made to be an individual turned the whole school upside down. pretty much n one in the school was them self until stargirl came. She added pizazz to the school and helped the basketball team have an almost perfect season. She loves helping people which is the most unusual thing in Mica high. No one helps no one. The clicks just stay as they aways were. In the final basketball game stargirl was the first one beside "Goliath" when he broke his leg and she walked out with him. Her Individuality was what showed who she was that day. She didn't care what everyone else said or did, she was just being herself. Nick M. Set 4
I think stargirls impact being an indivual on the mica high students has impacted them a ton. Almost all of the students at Mica high have become nonconformists. I think Stargirl sould keep up what shes doing and ignore them. It is a good thing stargirl came to Mica high.Tommy R. set 4
I think Stargirl's choice to be an individual affected the students at Mica High in a positive way because now at least some of the students are showing a part of who they really are such as Dori Dilson who wasn't afraid to defend Stargirl when Hillari had her rat. I also think Stargirl's actions will eventually affect Leo becausehe is starting to follow Stargirl around and is starting to see the things she does outside of school. He also didn't want Stargirl to get on Hotseat because he didn't want her to be exposed to the harmful comments he knew people were going to express to her. So now he's finally starting to see who he is.
Stargirl made a huge impact on the school because she taught people that non-conformity is very important. At first it was a good thing and people were finally being unique but then they turned on Stargirl and just leave the teaching-to-be-unique to themselves.

I think that Stargirl has impacted the students at Mica very much to an extent where people are getting anoyed at her. At first she influenced every one to be individuals. But now they think Stargirl has gone too far with cheering for the other team. They are starting to ignore her.

Then they started to accept her and show spirit and emotions and finally be themselves. Then everyone turned on Stargirl and went backwards into their old way of being one student body and not a school full of different kids. Stargirl should stay who she is because one day Mica High will need her again.
